Blizzard 2022

There is nothing more exciting than a decent snow storm in Winter. I love going outside during the storm and experience all the fresh snow when everything is getting covered with a puffy white layer. There are very few cars around, you can walk freely everywhere, as long as you keep an eye and ear out for snow plows.
I think I spent about 5 hours outside in the storm. First walking around Davis and then taking the T to Downtown, exploring how the inner city transformed to a white wonderland.
It certainly took the wheater resistance of my camera to a test. I kept it inside my jacked, and only pulled it out for quick shots. Over time it got wet, with water drops forming around the lenst, which had me a little bit concerned. But in the end everything went well and the camera survived.

Davis Square turns into a XC ski love fest the moment the streets are covered with snow.

...they are on every street enjoying their for urban environments unusual mode of transportation for a day.

The MBTA station was a welcome refuge to hide from the hind for a little bit. People were playing out in the snow, blending into the one scene with the statues outside Davis Square.

Davis certainly saw some snow today.

On my way to Downtown I excited the T at Park Street...

...making my way down Washing Street past some of the iconic theaters...

...and through a snowy Chinatown.

MBTA and city staff working to clear paths to the stations.

I guess just to proof a point, a skier climbed to the highest piont in the Boston Common, and skied as long as he could into the park.

Some coffee shops were open, frequented by people to brave (or enjoy) the storm.

My favorite surface to walk is fresh snow. I just love when it squeaks and crunches beneath my boots.
